I am formatting a document using page styles. For my style, on the Header tab, I have set Header on Same Content left/right off. I set the Spacing to .20 cm. This works but only for the odd numbered pages. The even pages seem to stay at the default spacing (.50cm). As an experiment, I pressed the More button from the Header tab and set the background colour to purple. This colour only appeared on the odd numbered pages...
It looks like a bug to me: the header properties are only given to the odd (right in my case) pages, but maybe there is another setting that I'm missing.

Open the stylist (F11), then put the cursor in the left and right headers, check that the paragraph styles are different (header left and header right).

Re: Left and right headers don't both get header properties
But what I don't understand after some tests (I was about to post the same answer) is that if you change the background or the spacing (to the page margins) through the Header tab of the page style, it should apply on both left/right headers. And it only applies to right pages (odd).
If nobody can explain how to change those parameters for the left pages, I think this is a bug. NB: I just checked with 2.4.1 (W2k) and the spacing is correctly applied on both left/right headers but not the borders and background color. Definitively a bug then. Someone to report it? Re: Left and right headers don't both get header properties
Strange, now it works fine for me
Here is the report: Issue 95357 - Wrong left header display if Same content left/right disabled. I've added some information, it seems to work fine once you've saved the file.
