Find and replace a "user" font color
Hi folks...
I have a document in which a color is defined as "user" [highlight text>Format>Character>font color]
I want to replace this color throughout the document.
When I open Find>Format>FontEffects>Font color - the dropdown list does not include the "user" color.
Is there a way to replace the user color?

You may need to use a macro. There's one in the attached document... you put the color values in the text boxes and click the button.

You can use a color picker to get the RGB color values from Format > Character > Font Effects > Font Color, then add the color to the color table in Tools > Options > OpenOffice > Colors.

When you say "a color picker" do you mean one outside of OpenOffice or is there one within the program?

the macro looks very useful - I've never used macros in OO before - how can I run this on my document?JeJe wrote:Slightly easier to use version:

looks like libreoffice is going to be easier for this sort of thing - maybe I should download that instead...erbsenzahl wrote:LibreOffice 7.2.3.2
do I still get to ask questions about it on this forum, or will have to join another?!

The idea of that document was you paste whatever into it and make the color change and paste back. It would need slightly different code to make the macro available for all documents.
You can use this forum for LO/OO or any other fork of the suite, as well as the dedicated LibreOffice forum that's there for LO too.
