[Solved] Open WP file ("Word Perfect")

Frustrated!
Changed to new computer after old one died. Had been using an old program called "Word Perfect" and transferred those files to new computer. Couldn't find old disc for program, doesn't matter new computer doesn't have disc drive anyway.
Now when I try to open a "WP" file in Open Office I get this pop up asking for ascii filter options. whatever I tell it, all i get when the file opens is gibberish. I could open it fine in Open Office on old computer, ??????
