Adding/Importing Additional Fonts and graphics
Hi! I am trying to locate and adding additionel fonts to OO writer- I also need to import some graphics from sources outside of OO. Can someone advise how I can do this successfully, thanks!

Re: Adding/Importing Additional Fonts and graphics..
Instal them into the opearating system. The OpenOffice will recognise them after a PC reboot.I am trying to locate and adding additionel fonts to OO writer
Note1: There are Free and Open Source fonts and there are Commercial fonts. If you have the installer file and the rights to install then, then you can install them.
Note2: OpenOffice can handle the TrueType fonts only.
The LibreOffice can handle the TrueType and the OpenType fonts too.

Re: Adding/Importing Additional Fonts and graphics..
Thank you respoding! So I need to hunt up some TrueType fonts and save them to Windows? Or a different program? Sorry, I'm still on a learning curve on this- Do you have any suggestions where I can locate graphics that I can import and use on a document? I really appreciate your time and assistance! Thanks! tommydoc66

Re: Adding/Importing Additional Fonts and graphics..
If you want to import the images into a document:I also need to import some graphics from sources outside of OO.
From LibreOffice menu:
Insert - Image
From OpenOffice Menu:
Insert - Picture - From file
Use the .jpg or the .png file format images. Never use the .bmp type images: convert them before you insert them into the document.
And always optimize the images before you embed it into a document. Decrease the physical size, the DPI value, the color depth to an optimal value. The huge images consupts too many memory and will slowener the office suite.
But, if you want to import the images into the Gallery of the Office suite - that is an another case.

Yes, you must buy the commercial fonts, or simply download the really free fonts, and must install them on the Windows 10.So I need to hunt up some TrueType fonts and save them to Windows?

The installer of the LibreOffice contains many free and Open Source fonts.
You can download the font set of the LibreOffice separatelly from the PortableApps site:
https://portableapps.com/apps/office/li ... e_portable
https://sourceforge.net/projects/portab ... r=deac-ams
Just unzip them and install them onto the operating system.

Re: Adding/Importing Additional Fonts and graphics..
Note: the fonts will not be appeared properly in a document what you send to an another person - if he/she have not installed SAME fonts.
Solution:
You can EMBED the used fonts into the document or into the PDF export, but you can embed the fonts only that have the rights for embedding.
