[Solved] Changing fonts separately

Post by Lunarian3 »

I figured this question has all ready been asked, but I cant find it.I can't decide on which font to use so I am changing sizes a lot. My chapter headings are one size and the body another. how can I mass change these two separately. every time I change the body I select all, and have to manually change the chapters individually.

thank you.

That's one benefit of using paragraph styles. Apply the Heading 1 paragraph style to the chapter headings. Apply the Text body paragraph style to the body text. Then you can right-click any heading and select Edit paragraph style to change the font for all headings, or right-click any body text and select Edit paragraph style to change the font for all body text.

For more information on styles, start with Introduction to Styles. You might also find Writer for students (several languages) to be a useful resource.

Ok. I wasn’t seeing “ edit paragraphs style.” I was trying to change it with just the paragraph selection and it wasn’t doing anything. If I would have just looked down farther. Smh

You can also use the Styles and Formatting dialog - via F11 or Format | Styles and Formatting - to select and modify, using right click, any style.

See the file referenced in this posting for an overview of the advantages of using styles. There are more detailed instructions to which we can point you if you so desire.
