Some footnotes are randomly bigger than others

Post by vaererer »

I want my footnotes at the end of the page to be size 10 and some are, but some are randomly bigger and it looks off. How can I fix it so they're all the same size?

The screen shot shows what is happening but not why. Please upload a sample document.

Put your cursor in such a footnote, select it, then press Ctrl M.

What you report often happens when a footnote content is copied from elsewhere - it can hold the original formatting as Direct Formatting.

Is this how you add a sample document? The ctrl + m worked on some but for example nr 14 is still off in size. I seem to able to mark only the text in the footnote and not the number of the footnote itself.

Many of the footnotes are in Default paragraph style. Place cursor in each and Select Footnote from the Formatting toolbar, or double click Footnote in /Format /Styles and Formatting.

There are similar problems with the line spacing in some of the footnotes. The line spacing in most is single, but some are 1.5 lines. If you want all footnotes to have the same format, reapply the Footnote paragraph style to all footnotes. If you then want to change the footnote formatting, modify the Footnote paragraph style instead of modifying the formatting of individual footnotes.

If inserting a footnote from other sources, use /Edit /Paste Special, picking unformatted text from the popup. Then apply the Footnote style to this unformatted text.
