Citation in a caption

Post by David_MT »

Hello,

I'm using LibreOffice and Mendeley for one University paper. I have some pictures, graphics, tables... on the paper and I use the captions to include automatically the number of the picture and to create easily an index of the pictures. Due to that some of the pictures I that have on my paper come from other documents, I need to add citations for this pictures in the caption. I have tried several times, but I always an error message (I have included the picture).
I have found that you cannot add footnotes refereed to captions, this could be a possibility why I cannot add the citation to the caption. Nevertheless for sure I'm not the first one that uses LibreOffice and Mendeley for university paper, so maybe someone has had the same problem before and found a solution.
The error I get when I try to add a citation with Mendeley in a caption

Does anyone can help me with this issue?

Thank you very much!

Add the footnote/whatever to the main text that's immediately after the caption.
