Dyslexic Font for OpenOffice Writer

Post by Fredmyster »

Hello,

I am wondering if there is a dyslexic-friendly font that you can install for Open Office Writer, and how would I be able to do this?

Thank you so much!

If I Google dyslexic-friendly font I get this

Use sans serif fonts, such as Arial and Comic Sans, as letters can appear less crowded. Alternatives include Verdana, Tahoma, Century Gothic, Trebuchet, Calibri, Open Sans. Font size should be 12-14 point or equivalent (e.g. 1-1.2em / 16-19 px). Some dyslexic readers may request a larger font.
Both Arial and Comic Sans are in my list of fonts for OO Writer.

There seem to be some fonts specifically designed for use by people with dyslexia - see this web search for example.

Any font needs to be installed for the system, according to the appropriate method. OpenOffice will use the system fonts and will only detect fonts already installed when OpenOffice is started.
