Hi.
I've long searched through the forum, but I couldn't find an answer to the problem I've been experiencing recently.
I have a laptop and a 2-in-1 tablet pc, both running Windows 10 (21H1), both with OpenOffice 4.1.10.
On the laptop everything works fine, but on the tablet pc the Page Preview of any document, even an empty one, makes Writer crash.
Resetting the user profile doesn't solve the problem, nor does reinstalling Openoffice or downgrading at a previous version (4.9.1... I don't remember when this problem arose).
The problem disappears if I start the system in safe mode. Enabling one service at a time I've found that the issue is caused by TabletInputService: if this service is disabled, Writers works fine, but then I can't use the on-screen keyboard.
Any idea on how to solve this problem?
Thanks
AB

Zoom to the same size as the page preview instead?

Re: Crash on Page Preview if Tabletinputservice is running
Hi.
Thank you for your reply... but that's a workaround, not a solution.
However, even if the Page Preview problem is certainly the most apparent issue, I've noticed that with Tabletinputservice running Writer responds very slowly to every other command.
Moreover, another 2-in-1 tablet pc (Windows 10, OpenOffice 4.1.9) I've tried shows exactly the same behavior...
LibreOffice isn't affected by this problem and works fine with Tabletinputservice enabled or disabled, but if I could find a solution I'd prefer to continue using OpenOffice.

If only other posters would try that before posting!G-Loc-AB wrote:The problem disappears if I start the system in safe mode. Probably an incompatibility between AOO and Windows 10 which is very unlikely ever to be fixed. As AOO is walking dead try LibreOffice.
