"Scaling Factor" feature desired

Post by CaptWho »

Edit: Split from How to fit print to paper? since this is a new question from a new person and needs a new topic
In the Page Preview toolbar in OpenOffice Spreadsheet, there's a slider that's called "Scaling Factor". Is there any way to get that same slider in OpenOffice Writer? It would be extremely useful.

If it's not immediately available, is there a way to suggest it as a new feature for Writer?

The same function is provided in Writer page preview using the two magnifying glass icons, as shown in the screen capture below.

There is also a Zoom slider at the bottom right of the status bar when you are in 'normal' view.

You can use the "Pages per" sheet and the "Brochure" options for printing a Writer document.

You must choose the appropriate paper size (page size) for the printing before you edit a document. The Writer will recompose the document when you choose an another page size.

And you can export the document into PDF format. A PDF reader can scale the document for printing, because the PDF is a graphic based file format format. The PDF file format preserves the layout, but changes the object sizes, when you rescale it.
