Starting to learn Writer I find the amount of configuration to be quite overwhelming and very difficult to find my way around. I just want a plain page with a footer at the bottom right and that’s all, nothing fancy. The attached image shows what I was able to achieve which is far away from what I want.
So what are the steps to make a template with a footer like 1 OF number of pages ?
And if I don’t want to have the footer how do I remove it? (Like in one page document the footer is not required).
How can I make this template the default?
I write a lot of documents (as a hobby) and often I want to change the style of a word or sentence to stand out. In MS Office I use Ctrl+Shift+P and this brings a window where I can change the Font, Color, Size etc. Is there something similar in Writer?
Thank you

Re: Bebinners First Steps
Page layout is based on styles.
Hit F11 for the stylist window, click the 4th button in the top row ("Page Styles"), double-click "First Page".

Re: Bebinners First Steps
There is a sidebar in AOO/LO that offers such possibility.Oskar4U wrote: In MS Office I use Ctrl+Shift+P and this brings a window where I can change the Font, Color, Size etc. Is there something similar in Writer?
But please keep one issue per thread.
Please have a look at the Survival Guide for the forum.

Re: [Solved] Beginners First Steps
Shorter than the Writer manual John_Ha recommends is
Writer for students (several languages)
I suggest starting with that.
