In my text document, how would I go about sorting the lines of my text document alphabetically?

Select your text, then /Tools /Sort

Do you really mean the lines or the paragraphs?

If the answer is "paragraphs", then you can do it
- by sorting them the Tool - Sort menu item.
- by convert the text to a one-column text table. You can sort the tables in the Writer.
- by copy-pasting the paragraphs into the rows of a calc spreadsheet. You can sort the rows in the spreadsheets.

Finally you must copy/paste the text back to the Writer file.
