Open office 4.0
Re: Images are not easy to erase
The AOO 4.0.0 is a very old version. The latest version of the LibreOffice Fresh is the 6.4.3, the latest LibreOffice Still is 6.3.6, and the latest Apache OpenOffice version is the 4.1.7.
I suggest you to upgrade your software.

What's the point of using pictures in a formula?
Moreover, once in formula, you can't insert a picture, the menu is grayed out.

Re: Images are not easy to erase
Pressing Table > Formula opens the formula bar and puts the insertion point in the bar where you can edit the formula. The Delete key works inside the formula bar. If you want to delete something outside the formula bar, close the formula bar.

Re: Images are not easy to erase
But how OP can insert a picture (step 4) once in the formula bar?
There is a problem here.

Re: Images are not easy to erase
I agree that the steps posted by the OP cannot be performed in the order given (unless it's a bug in AOO 4.0). The image can only be inserted before Step 3, not after. That's the only way that the complaint about the Delete key makes sense. If the image is inserted before Table > Formula, then the image can be selected and the formula bar will hide, but the Delete key will not delete the image. The Formula Bar must be explicitly closed by pressing Enter while in the Formula Bar or by clicking the red "x" on the Formula Bar before the image can be deleted.

erickMarty,
Please upload your ODF type sample file inside a small undeletable image. Note: the file size limit is 128 KiB in this forum.

Re: Images are not easy to erase
In fact, as long as the formula bar is not actually closed, you can't do anything in the text. If you click outside the formula bar, it will disappear (rather misleading BTW) but still, you can't delete the inserted picture (if you've inserted it before opening the formula bar).
Thus, Can't see how an action can't be undone since the action can't be done in the first place.
Or there is a corner case (linked to the OS? I just tried on my xubuntu machine).

If you don't post again in the topic to tell that you've modified a post, nobody will see it except by chance as I just did.
Please post instead of modifying a previous message next time.
You're talking about the Gallery. I tried in AOO and works fine for me.
I'll leave that to LibreOffice users.

Re: Images are not easy to erase
The editing of the original post just lets me guess that the image was inserted by dragging it from the gallery. It changes nothing about the solution. You can't delete anything outside the formula bar until the formula bar is closed by the user.
