Re: Century Schoolbook Font
Fonts are installed on the Operating System, and OpenOffice picks these up each time it starts up. So install the downloaded font on your computer - Google for how - then start OpenOffice and the font should be available for use.
Apache OpenOffice 4.1.15 on Xubuntu 22.04.5 LTS

Re: Century Schoolbook Font
Hi, and welcome to the forum. Thank you for the interesting question.
If you don't find the Apple → Fonts → iWork path or the font, you can install Pages (part of the iWork suite) from the App Store. You're not going to be using Pages to create your Petition For Writ, though you could once you install the font. Pages is iWork's text processing application, like Writer is in OpenOffice. But you may need to install Pages to get the font from Apple. If installing Pages don't provide the font, then try Keynote and then Numbers. All of these applications are free from Apple in the App Store.
If this solved your problem please go to your first post use the Edit button and add [Solved] to the start of the title. You can select the green checkmark icon at the same time.

Wow! Apparently so, though not necessarily Century Schoolbook.Prescott wrote:i am creating a Petition For Writ to SCOTUS, which requires Century font.
- The text of every booklet-format document, including any appendix thereto, shall be typeset in a Century family (for example, Century Expanded, New Century Schoolbook, or Century Schoolbook) 12-point type with 2-point or more leading between lines. Quotations in excess of 50 words shall be indented. The typeface of footnotes shall be 10-point type with 2-point or more leading between lines. The text of the document must appear on both sides of the page.
I have the Century Schoolbook font from Apple though it's not installed. In Finder, when I use Go → Computer and navigate to Macintosh HD → Library → Application Support → Apple → Fonts → iWork I find CenturySchoolbook.ttc. Double-clicking that, Font Book (the Mac's font manager) launches and offers an Install Font button. You may need to restart your Mac to make a new font available to OpenOffice. I would trust Apple's font to be free from malware, an assumption which I would not make from a random "free download" website.Prescott wrote:i've downloaded a font from some free download cite (probably a mistake)
Edit: The font should be in the iWork directory without the need to install Pages/Numbers/Keynote. |

Re: Century Schoolbook Font
Thank you both for responding. You gave me enough info so that i found where the font i downloaded was stored. (in User)
i moved it to the computer library fonts and then closed OO and reopen, Ta Da-a-a.
On with the Petition.
