[Solved] Footer fields not acting like before

Noticed this morning using ver 4.1.6 that my date, time, filename, page number, page count fields in the footer weren't displaying any data. They were just showing the field names.

I'm positive they used to.

So, I upgraded to ver 4.1.7 today....same thing.

Is there some setting I've screwed up?

Change /View /Field Names.

Try some brief instructions:
Writer for students (several languages)

THANK YOU BOTH! ---and a suggestion for others:

Tools > Customize > Keyboard
Then scroll down until you see Ctrl+F9
Make sure the Writer button is selected
DELETE THE FURSHLINGER THING
Then hit OK

...and live the rest of your life knowing that such a rarely-used option remains available without the fumbly fingered possibility of ruining your entire world.

I have discovered several such obstacles to success and deleted or re-keyed each one. That keyboard customization is one of the most valuable features of AOO.
