Roman numeral for first few page numbers

Postby TerryLynne » Sat Feb 08, 2020 3:12 am

Someone helped me today re inserting page numbers in a doc to send to Publishing - the first few pages must be in Roman numerals i.e. for Preface and Introduction - how can I change only those numbers, leaving the others in place? I'e been studying tutorials and found nothing pertaining to Mac.

I think Restarting page numbering in the Writer Guide covers that fairly well. Note that it isn't a Mac thing but a generic Writer thing.

You must use different Page Styles for pages that have different numbering styles. Now you have got numbering working (as in your other post) I suggest you re-read the documentation/tutorials in that light.

 Edit: Look at
How to Layout a Book with OpenOffice.org
and the two subsequent parts linked off that article.

Also, helpful for those writing a book
