Re: Issues with ms word into AOO conversion
Note: There is not (never was and never will be) 100 % compatibility between the different file formats.
Yes, maybe you must realign the pictures.
Always optimize the pictures before you insert them into a document:
- set the optimal size and resolution
- set the optimal color depth
- crop the irrelevant part of the picture
with a third party image manager software.
The unoptimized, huge pictures always will cause some problems.
And always use the native, international standard ODF fileformats with the AOO and LO.

Re: Issues with MS Word into AOO conversion
Also, try opening the file in LibreOffice. Sometimes, LibreOffice shows better results with Word file, especially with DOCX (sometimes, however, Apache OpenOffice is better).
AOO 4.2.0 (of 2015) / LO 7.x / Win 7 / openSUSE Linux Leap 15.4 (64-bit)
Re: Issues with MS Word into AOO conversion
Newer versions of Word can save as a .odt file so if you have access to Word you could try saving in that format (or try one of the others) from within Word first.
Windows 10, Openoffice 4.1.11, LibreOffice 7.4.0.3 (x64)
