[Solved] issue exporting a doc with emojis as a pdf

Post by phletch »

hi,i have open office doc
i need the doc as a pdf
when exporting a pdf the emoji symbols wont render and a blank space or square logo in its place
strangely when i save as word 97 doc and then upload to a online version of word i have (no desktop version)
the whole doc file is fine and shows every simple emoji BUT weirdly ONE of the red hearts is rendered as white ? wtf ?
i can then convert to pdf online and DL but still the same render issue
im just about to publish a book on pdf and this is the last micro detail anomoly so if any ideas on what to do
ive tried adjust pdf export settings
thanks in advance for any suggestions!

This is most likely a font problem, but until we know the name of the font being used, or at least being requested, we cannot make any tests.

I suppose it: the Arial font not contain any emoji.

Do you have any version where everything looks correct?
If so, you might try using Zamzar to convert that document into PDF.
