does OO3 handle alpha channel on a mac?
a window capture paste into a Writer has a black background fill; which is indicative of the gradient on transparent background not being transferred (as afar as I know)
A small additional curiostity
if the navigator is docked, then there is a gradient on transparent background surrounding the navigator window, a normal window capture , sounds like it grabs, but nothing will paste in. The navigator being docked, causes OO3 to freeze btw (yet again)

Re: does OO3 handle alpha channel on a mac?
I have seen the transparent->black problem for a long time with OOo on Linux. I thought surely it must have been reported, but I can't find any bug report that matches exactly.
I work around the problem by saving the image to a file, then inserting the file. Writer works correctly when loading an image from a file, rather than from the clipboard.
I'm afraid I can't understand your second question. Rather than trying to clarify the question here, it would be better if you start a new thread for the other question. That way, we don't try to mix discussion of two different topics.
