Creating a database

Post by cblumtritt@aol.com »

I am trying to launch a database and I get the following messages "The OpenOffice configuration has been change. Under Tools - Options- OpenOffice - Java, select the Java runtime environment you wand to have used by OpenOffice." and "The connection to the data source "New Database" could not e estableished. No Java installation could be found. Please chek your installation." When I search for Java on my computer I find

Java
Configure Java
Apps
Check for update
About
JavaSetup8u231.exe

I try clicking on the exe, and Java installs, but that does not solve the problem.
What am I missing?

See Troubleshooting Open/LibreOffice and Java for more information. Note especially that for Windows you require a 32 bit Java.
