How are you selecting your cell range in Calc? I have been able to copy by simple selecting the cell range (usually the whole sheet), and then open the Tables module in the Base window and paste (or Paste Special).

I managed to copy paste a table in Base from Calc. What I did earlier was pasting data into a already open table in Base and not in the tables module. Thanks for helping out.
