Recent Documents

I am attempting to show my 83 year old mother in law how to use this product instead of purchasing MS Office. She is very confused by the fact when in Calc and clicks the recent documents she is also seeing Write items. is there a way to eliminate seeing items from other parts of Open Office in the specific app recent documents?

No way that I know. Enable viewing of file extensions and teach her that .odt, (.doc and .docx -- ugh!) are all she should open, or make sure her filenames differ considerably from yours.
