[Solved] File opening question

Post by GrayBostick »

All of a sudden I am getting a message that my open off doc files are "locked for editing by an unknown user"...I can either open a read-only version or a copy that can be edited...but must be renamed...and then IT is automatically blocked upon attempt to reopen with same message.

I made no admin changes, but I did have a couple auto restarts for updates lately.

Any clues on clearing this? Can it be done by administrator? And if so, how? I'm NOT a techno guy!

And is Open 4 on Windows 8.1
