Templates copied to template folder not working

Hi,
I had downloaded some templates to my Open Office 4, and copied them to the template folder in the new version 4.1.6.

The template folder is in the Open Office/presets folder. I tried to import them into the My Templates folder within the program, and it told me I already had them. I looked and they were inside the folder, however, when I try to use any of them, they do not show up in the list.

I need to use templates for mailing labels for various reasons. I have a template file called: avery_8192_dvd_label.ott that I need to use often.
Attached is a screenshot of the others. Please tell me how to use these templates or if they are no good anymore. They're from 2014.

Select Tools > Options > OpenOffice > Paths and look at the path for "Templates". Try putting the templates there instead of in program files. I haven't found any documentation about using the template folder in program files.

Or use the bulit-in template organizer function instead of the pure copying method.



But... why you need put these templates into the template store of the office suite?

You can open the templates as you can open the normal documents from any place. File - Open...
Or double click on the file name...

"My Templates" looks like a folder, but it's actually a list of files that could be in several different folders. By default, "My Templates" only looks for files in the template folder in the user profile. You can tell "My Templates" to also look for files in the template folder in program files. Select Tools > Options > OpenOffice > Paths > Templates, then click "Edit". On the Edit Paths dialog, click "Add", then select the path to the templates folder in program files. After this path is added, the templates should show up in the "My Templates" list.
