[Solved] Is it possible to invert colors for editing only?

I would like to invert colors just for screen display purposes, not in the actual file or print outs.
The reason is to decrease eye-strain.
My searches all came up with ways to change the colors of the document itself.
Is there a way to do this?

TIA,
ehb

I think you may choose High Contrast themes for your windows, which may help. Don't forget that you can adjust the Brightness and Contrast on your monitor - that may be sufficient for your purposes. If you are in the money, consider a large monitor.

Thanks RoryOF.
Yes, i have multiple large-ish monitors and have some apps that can optionally invert to a light text on dark background.
The way I experience it, having fewer photons hitting my eyes (e.g. black vs white backgrounds) creates less strain.
Being able to "invert colors" for display would be a nice feature for me & I suspect possibly others.

Another solution is to systematically use Styles. If colours were applied using Styles, they can be changed for editing purposes to more comfortable colours, then for printing changed back to the print colours. There are likely to be only a small number of styles needing adjustment.

Styles seems like a viable option.
fyi - i really like the covenience of Ubuntu's qdpfview & ockular's single toggle to do this.

https://bugs.launchpad.net/qpdfview/+bug/1024365
which is what started me thinking about having this capability in OO, thus the initial question.

As you are using a Mac, look at this thread
https://support.apple.com/kb/ph25807?locale=en_US

It lists a setting to Invert Mac screen colours.

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

Mac OS can invert colors. Use  → System Preferences → Keyboard → Shortcuts → Accessibility. Then press the assigned shortcut. This action affects every application, not just OpenOffice. I use this feature at times.

If this solved your problem please go to your first post use the Edit button and add [Solved] to the start of the title. You can select the green checkmark icon at the same time.

Very nice :) I didn't know about that. Perfect for my MAC.
It seems like there is something similar for Ubuntu https://superuser.com/questions/570666/ ... ion-colors
I'll go ahead and mark this as solved, with the caveat that it would still be a nice program specific option ;)
