Got iMac; OO won't print

I uninstalled the latest version of Open Office (i.e., in Mac lingo I "sent it to the trash") and downloaded it again. It did download (found it under "downloads,"), but there is NO Open Office app/program to be found anywhere on this computer. I got into this mess because I can't print anything from Open Office with the new computer. I read on this forum that I should re-install Open Office, but now I don't even have the program.

Should you wish to help me, please write in sentences that a 3-year old can understand. My username is all you need to know about me. That, and I'm 71 years old.
