Hi, there!
I just downloaded Apache OpenOffice today, and was wondering if it is at all possible to access an MS Office 2013 document I have that is password-protected. When I try to open it, I get a popup window titled "Filter Selection" with a long list of file types to choose from.
Thanks in advance.

I downloaded it yesterday, actually.Villeroy wrote:What did you update if you just downloaded Apache OpenOffice today?
“By way of update” was in regards to the status of the aforementioned
technical difficulty.
Long story short, I no longer had access to MS Word, where a password-
protected document was based. Since I couldn't get Apache to open the
password-protected document, I simply enrolled in Microsoft's 30-day
free-trial of Office 365, accessed the document's contents through that,
and copy-pasted those contents into an Apache document.

AOO can handle some, but not all, of the variants of encryption MS Word uses. See [Tutorial] Differences between Writer and MS Word files.
