[Solved] Apache OpenOffice 4.1.5 upgrade question

Post by Ralphe »

OK. I have been using Open Office for a while. I currently have version 4.1.3. Now there is a new version and I downloaded it. But before I install I want to check: Do I need to uninstall 4.1.3? And if I dont - will I end up with 2 Open Office versions? I dont want that... Maybe if I put the install file in the existing Open Office folder before I install it? Will the new version overwrite the old one? This it not som obvious.

Just install - it will overwrite the existing version, unless you are using a Mac.

OK. Thanks. I guess I was confused by the fact that the installation file wanted to install in another "Target folder" (Swedish translation).

If you are using a 64 bit version of Windows there may be a choice of where OO is installed; someone with more recent Windows experience might have advice.
