Spell checker

Post by IanCurrie »

Hello out there,
every time I try to open a document or start a new one the spell checker opens. It says "spellcheck is complete" but it won't let me close it down. This means I can't access any of my documents. I have tried uninstalling OpenOffice and downloading a new copy but it didn't help. Any ideas anyone?

reset the user profile

This tends to cure all sorts of weird behaviours in AOO.

Thanks I'll try that. I'm not sure how to reset user profile but I can look it up. The problem is at the I can't open office without restore deleted documents dialogue box coming up but I'll have another try

Try the link above again or try this one: reset the user profile. It should take you to a tutorial.

Alternatively, go to Board index >Getting Started > Tutorials and look for

[Tutorial] The OpenOffice User Profile

I seem to have mangled the link in the original reply. My apologies.

Thanks again for your help. I’ll sit down tomorrow when I have more time and see what I can do
