I did that. It took me to the download page. When I click on download it takes me to a Twitter page. I would show it to you but I don't know how.

I believe you! Have you selected a version and language before clicking Download? You may have some form of virus/Trojan on your computer; I suggest running a virus and a malware scan on your computer, with latest virus/malware definitions.

I ran advanced system care this morning and it didn't find anything. I don't know how to run it "with latest virus/malware definitions" I don't understand that terminology. I am not very computer literate. I basically know how to do what I need to do for everyday operations.

If you use an antivirus program, there should be a setting in it to update its definitions file. A well respected Malware program is MalwareBytes. which can be downloaded from the MalwareBytes Free button at

I downloaded and ran malwarebytes. It found some pups. Do I need to take any action on them?

It is so long since I used MalwareBytes that I don't remember. Does it offer to quarantine or remove them? If so, that is the choice you should make.

Pups are Potentially Unwanted Programs. If Malwarebytes found them, I'd recommend taking action on them with the action being to Quarantine.
That way you get rid of the program temporarily until you can figure out if it's a program you actually want or not.
If it is, you can remove it from the Quarantine, rather than having to find the program again and reinstall it... which can be a problem with older programs.

Try this direct link
https://sourceforge.net/projects/openof ... e/download
If you want the English (UK) version, change the US into GB in the above URL before pasting it into your browser.

Do not click anything on the SourceForge page:
sourceforge.png
Just wait until the download panel will pop-up:
DownloadAOO.png
Then click on the Save file button ("Fájl mentése" on my Hungarian locale attachment)

I have never gotten a sourceforge page similar to the one you have, but I will do what I have been doing and wait a while to see if it will pop up. If that doesn't work I am going to start cooking supper. Thank you for all your time and assistance!

In Firefox you have to wait for the dialog box in Zizi64's post to appear (advertisements on the page will differ), in Chrome the download will start automatically. Click anywhere on that page at your own risk - not matter where it gets you, it won't get you to OpenOffice.
