[Solved] Removing Irfanview extensions from .odt

I have a number of .odt documents that have been usurped by Irfanview, even though they seem to have the .odt extension. Can someone tell me how to detach these documents from Irfanview?

A number? Is it not all .odt files, or have they some other extension?

These are files on the desktop that were originally saved with the ,odt extension. They now are Irfanview files but still have the .odt suffix. They can be accessed by going into Open Office and are fully available there but, when saved, have the Irfanview access.

You need to change their File Association; Right Click on one .odt file and select Open With "OpenOffice Writer"; at the bottom of this window should be a line "Always open with this application" (or words to that effect). Click on that, and all should now be well.

I right-clicked one of the files and selected Properties. It allowed me to change all .odt files to open with Open Office. Problem solved. Thanks for your help.
