'Calc' not booting-up

Post by GiveMeGraphics »

I am using OpenOffice 3.2.1 and usually use 'Calc' the clone of Windows Excel on windows 7 and I find usually the application boots up fine, but occasionally it will not load at all. In this case I have shut down all programs, restart the PC and then load-up the program. I am wondering if anyone has the same issue and could advise a fix?

Thank you for your help.

Minor point: Calc is not a 'clone' of Excel. It is an alternative just as something like Gnumeric is or the much-lamented Lotus123 was.

Anyway, back to the problem. Are you using any of the other AOO modules? If so do any of them fail to load? If not, it might be interesting to see if Writer or Impress will load when Calc will not.

Otherwise, the usual advice is Reset User Profile . Given it is a problem in loading the program, I am not hopeful but it is a bit like the MicroSoft adage: When in doubt, reboot.
