Turn off open on download

I've been applying to a lot of jobs lately and when I download a fresh copy of my resume, or any document really, OpenOffice automatically opens it. Is there a way to turn this setting off?

I usually get a screen asking me if I want to open the document in LO in my case or save the file, which is the way I have my system defaults set. I think you need to play around with your download settings to see if you can reset them to something like mine.

I am no help since I have not used Windows in many years.

Depends on what browser you are using. Is it Edge, Internet Explorer or ???

I am using Chrome. It sounds like it's a browser issue.
