Document locks up upon opening

I've had 4.1.3 installed for several months, but this morning when I tried to open a document, it locked up, i couldn't type at all, and had to close. A few minutes ago, I uninstalled and re-installed it and I get the same thing. I'm a beginner after more than 25 years on computers , so simple instructions, please. Thanks.

Well, I guess you can disregard. The problem seems to have resolved itself after a night's sleep.
