Hello,
I am a new user in Ope Office version 4.1.3.
I saved the last version of an important document normally when I was writing it and when I tried to open it again
it appeared a chart asking me to fill with my name, second name and initials, I thought it was strange because
it it not usual, I did it and then it appeared another chart saying that my file was available only a copy or a reading version
that I could not edit, because it was protected by the usuary.
I don.t know why it happened and I had never selected any protection measure.
Since then, I tried to recover my file transforming to another files, I tried to open it with Micrososf Word,
I also tried to look for the temporary backup files, but the version I found there was a very old one, not the last updated version.
My cousin is an IT and he tried to help me through teamviewer programme but he could not find the file as well.

=> The file is corrupted and full of ashes ## in all its pages.

So I thought that here i the forum anyone could help me, I have a tight deadline to send this paper and I hope there is anything I could do in order
to recover it.
Thanks!

Your file is lost, beyond recovery, I fear. You may have powered down or hibernated the computer before the internal housekeeping was complete; modern computers store the output data in software and then hardware write buffers to appear to speed things up; it is best to wait a few extra seconds after the formal "OK to power off message" to allow all disk activity to finish.

Good luck.

I hope you had backups.
