Does PDF user manual exist please?

Post by mippymap »

Hello

Does anyone know where I can find PDF user manual please for offline usage? I've discovered online version here...

https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Docume ... /UserGuide

The 'download as PDF' option doesn't work (well it does, but doesn't produce the actual user guide), and the 'Create a book' just gives error message.

Thank you

Existing PDF manuals for OO 3.3 will usually get you well on the way.

Thanks all, but was really looking for PDF of the latest. On that wiki page I linked about, does anyone know how to get the 'Create a book' to work properly? Seems like a great option, but after I add pages and try to create a book, I just get error message.

I'll checkout PDF for OO 3.3, but that's really quite old isn't it? When was OO 3.3 released?

Error messages have a meaning.

http://openoffice-uni.org/ is a book written with OpenOffice describing how to write a book.
The introductory excercise is very enlightening
1 Introduction
This guide is intended for university students. It covers all the essentials you will need during the course of your studies and beyond.
But before reading on please do the hands-on exercise ‘Practice I’ in section 49 right away. Then come back and take up from here. The following explanations will then sound much less abstract and your learning speed will benefit. Please read the entire guide carefully and patiently because the various sections build one on the other. It’s pointless to jump directly to those sections you might consider especially useful. It should take approximately four hours to read through this documentation.
