Howdy there!
I have downloaded several resume templates.
I save them to my templates folder, and unzip them there.
The problem is as thus: I am following all of the instructions that I have read on how to import/install templates. However, when I go to "Organize / Import Templates", and look for the template to import it to OpenOffice, it sees the folder... I open the folder for the template, and there is no useable file format. I opened each folder within the main folder, looking for a configuration file, but none appears. All I get is dead-end searches for the actual file that OpenOffice would use to define the template that I have downloaded. It's asking for a .ott, .stw, .oth, .ots, .stc, .otp, .sti, .otg, .std, or a .vor file... But none seem to exist within the entire folder chain for the downloaded template.
Can you help me figure out why I don't see any configuration file for the templates that I am downloading? I'm just going in circles over and over.
Thanks!

Where did you get your templates? This is the official site http://templates.openoffice.org/.

Re: Can't import templates
SOLVED.
The problem I was having is that when I downloaded the templates, the compressed folder was automatically saved by windows as a ".zip" file.
This changes the original extension of the folder, and screws everything up.
When downloading a compressed folder containing a template, save the folder. Then, before trying to find it with OpenOffice, change the name of the zipped folder extension to ".ott". Then search again for the template and you will be able to see and import the template.
Thanks!

Yes using Internet Explorer or Edge will do that, Firefox doesn't do that.

Thanks for the heads-up!
Back to Firefox. It's been giving me trouble lately, so I'll try it again and see if they've worked out the bugs since my last try.

I'm a Firefox fan but if it still is a problem have a look at Chrome.MightyUnicorn wrote:Thanks for the heads-up!
