How to open MS Works docs

Post by skidmark »

I need help to open MS Works documents. Today I installed AOO for the first time. I then opened AOO text @ tried to open a Works text doc with file extension .wps which resulted in a Filter window which didn't have MS Works listed. To add this programme, it said to use Setup which I installed and that's where I'm up to now.
I'd like to know how to add MS Works word and spreadsheet files to the AOO list, please, so I can open and use these files.

OpenOffice does not support .WPS files. Use http://www.zamzar.com to convert these to OO formats.

Or you can try the LibreOffice. It can open the wps files.

Please, edit the initial post in the topic: add the word [Solved] at the beginning of the subject line - if your problem has been solved.

Whichever method you use, you should move away form the .wps format to the international standard Opendocument formats (.odt, .ods etc).
