Searched and coming up dry. I'm a newbie who just DL 4.1.2 and looking for a paper manual. Primarily interested in using Spreadsheet and Database. Looking for a paper manual because my internet access is limited (and expensive). TIA.

Any of the OO 3.3 or 3.4 manuals available commercially will cover the rudiments of the OpenOffice applications. The v4 manuals are not yet complete. If you can get internet access, the PDF versions for 3.3 are available for download at
https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Docume ... e_Chapters
typically about 8MB each.

Details of a commercial manual for OO (3.4?) are at
http://www.taming-openoffice-org.com/newsite/?cat=22
I haven't used this, but author Jean Hollis Weber is very sound on OpenOffice usage.

Rory, thnx for the info. That's what I needed to know - if older OO versions would suffice for basic training since 4.1.2 is fairly new and I didn't come up with anything specific on that version. Will check it all out.
