OpenOffice 4.0 PDF Conversion Problems

OpenOffice 4.0 crashes whenever I attempt to convert an OpenOffice document to PDF. Previous versions of OpenOffice have never given me any problems.

I frequently convert my documents to PDF - I need to, so I can keep them on my eReader and get them published. If OpenOffice 4.0 is unable to convert PDFs, that's 75% of the functionality of this software, for me, out the window.

4.0 urgently needs a patch.

I just tried exporting a Writer document to PDF and it worked fine. You may have a corrupted user profile. There is a tutorial on how to reset your profile. Please try that and see if it helps.

Exporting to pdf works fine with AOO 4 from the regular editing view but crashes every time from the print preview screen.

If you're working from the print preview, try the regular editing view instead.

If that doesn't help, please attach a sample document that we can test as well, to see if the problem is specific to your document, or maybe to your system for some reason. You can use the "Upload Attachment" link (below the message entry area after you click "POST REPLY"). For tips on posting large or confidential documents, see: [Forum] How to attach a document here
