Spellcheck not working

My spellcheck is not working, and neither is Find/replace - I have tried everything I can think of, and all the settings seem to be right - I have just downloaded another version of 2.3 but it still doesn't work - can anyone help?

For Find & Replace, what do you mean? What have you tried and that doesn't work?
