[Solved] Full Document Resizing

Post by rpurcell »

Hello. I am using OO 3.3 for Windows. I wanted to find out if there's a way to resize my entire document (125 pages) down to 6 x 9. I believe it's 8.5 x 11 now. The folks at Amazon told me that I would have to resize the OO doc first, before changing it to a PDF file, for uploading purposes. I can't just change the PDF to 6 x 9 afterwards. Just to be clear, I'm not talking about pics, tables, or anything else. This is only text. I'm sorry if the answer to this is obvious, or been posted before, but it's one of those deals where the more I search, the more confused I get. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

You have to change the page size. Double click the page style name in the status bar and go to the Page tab.

Please add '[Solved]' at the beginning of your first post title (edit button) if your issue has been fixed.

Select / View / Styles and Formatting (or press F11). Press the 4th icon from left on its top bar and select Applied Styles from the dropdown on the bottom bar. This now shows you the page Styles in use. Right click on Default, select Modify and then page tab and change the selected page size to 6x9. Repeat this for each Page Style used in the document and all should be well (just in case the styles used are not correctly linked back to the Default Style).

Edit: Note that the above process will not scale the type down; all the type will remain at its original size, so you may need to do a re-layout. This may or may not be possible repeating the above process using the first Icon from the left on the Styles and Formatting window and changing the font sizes selected on the Font tab. If direct formatting has been used there will be "sticky" formatting and you may need to post with a supplementary question.
