[Solved] Can I install just "Writer?"

Post by chinook »

Welcome beginner. Please answer all of the questions below which may provide information necessary to answer your question.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Which version of OpenOffice.org are you using? None Yet
What Operating System (version) are you using? Windows Vista Home Premium 6.0
What is your question or comment?
I need only the word processing program, not the entire suite but do not see any way to download just "Writer." If I download the entire OpenOffice suite, is there an installation option to install only Writer?
Thank you

It's possible to only install the Writer part. But because OOo is very wel integrated the space gain is very minimal. So you might as well install the whole thing. If a basic writing program is all you need though you might want to give Abiword a try. It's not as full featured as writer but it is much smaller.
