Automatic Updates

Welcome beginner. Please answer all of the questions below which may provide information necessary to answer your question.

Which version of OpenOffice.org are you using?
None yet.
What Operating System (version) are you using?
Windows XP Professional SP2.
What is your question or comment?
Does Open Office have an automated update or auto patching feature?
Or do I need to manually download new versions and patches and install them myself?

OOo checks for updates (that feature can be disabled) but it won't upgrade by itself. And the upgrade is done by fully upgrading the application, no patch. I thought that patches would be a smart way to upgrade but after reading some discussions about that, it seems that it could introduce additional bugs. So it was less work for devs to deliver a better code with a complete package.
LibreOffice 7.6.2.1 on Xubuntu 23.10 and 7.6.4.1 portable on Windows 10
