conversion openoffice to microsoft

Post by cpeac »

My first time with open office. Question - How can I set open office in word process and spread sheet in Microsoft format so that documents can be opened in Microsoft format? I have used help extensively and unable to find anything that works.
Thank you.

Look at Tools---->Options--->Load/Save. Also File--->Open---->Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP or Microsoft Excel 97/2000/XP.(Click on the Files of Type: drop down arrow) OOo cannot yet open Office 2007 files.

IF Tom's answer doesn't solve your problem (but I think it should) could you please be more specific about what you mean by "opened in Microsoft format"?
Do you mean you're trying to open Microsoft format documents in OpenOffice and you want OpenOffice to always open those files?
Do you mean you want MS Office to open those files?
Do you mean you want to be able to save files in MS Office format?
Do you mean something else that I haven't thought of yet?
Cheers!
