[Solved] How to change the file name

Post by melinda10S »

:?: Well y'all, I got the ad done. Now I need to e-mail it with a new file name. I right clicked but it doesn't give me the drop down list. Do I export it and then change the name? Thank you all for your invaluable help.

File - Save as - change the file name - OK.

Then you will able to sent it with the new file name from the Office suite, or you will able to attach to the email in your email software/service.

Thank you. I just went to my documents and changed it there. I'll try to change it in OO too.

Changing a file name in My Documents will change the name, but changing the extension there does not change the file type. For that you must use OpenOffice /File /Save as and select the new type from t he file type dropdown. It is good to check "Automatic file name extension" on that screen - OpenOffice will automatically add he correct file extension (three letter file type).
