[Solved] Margins adjusting opposite of the distance entered

Post by Darren N »

Why are margins that I am entering doing the opposite?

I am publishing a book and I need to make the inner margins at the center of the book wider than the outer.

However, when I enter the measurements, the preview box show the pages like I want them. But when I click "ok" the document does the opposite as seen in the attached photo.

In the image your can see that the document pages are correct. The inside margins at the gutter of the book at the correct .8 inch. However, looking at the menu it shows the opposite; the inside margins are .6 inches.

I've been using this program for years and this is the first time this has ever happened.

How do I fix this?

The value for inner margin is lower than the value for outer in your screenshot. It does not match what you want it seems ("I need to make the inner margins at the center of the book wider than the outer").

Check the display mode: bottom right, in your status bar, left of the zoom slider, make sure that the Book view indicator is switch on. Else, the multiple-page view will not put the odd pages on the right and the even ones on the left.

Please add [Solved] at the beginning of the title in your first post (top of the topic) with the *EDIT button if your issue has been fixed.

Your description sounds to me like Mirrored margins for facing pages
