Fullscreen streaches around two monitors

So, it's as the title say. I try to ctrl+shit+j and instead of it staying in one monitor, it streaches tha window to my second monitor. SO I have half the window in one monitor and half in the other. I saw another post with the same issue in 3.4 and no solution. Sorry if i wasn't clear enough.

Thank you.

Welcome to the Forums.
This would be a factor of the monitor configuration that you have setup in Windows.
Check/adjust your settings in Windows 10 using Settings -> Display -> Multiple Displays

Hi Russel, thanks for your reply. On my cofigurations i have the options to duplicate de monitors, extend desktop(which is what i use) and to show only monitor 1 or 2. I don't see how this could soulve my problem.

Thank you once again.

On the extended monitor setup, click and hold on the title bar of OpenOffice, then pull it to be mostly on one or other of your two monitors. Release, then double click the title bar and the OpenOffice window should maximise to that screen. OpenOffice should thereafter open on that screen.

Hi Rory, thank you for you reply. Once i fullscreen i'm unable to click on the title bar of OpenOffice or to drag it to a specific monitor.

Don't go to full screen until you have moved your OpenOffice Window.

When not full screen and only maximized OpenOffice window behaves as it should, it occupy just one monitor. I'm sorry if i'm missing something here.

I'm uploading aa screen shot of how it looks like for me. You can imagine that the half without a bar is one monitor and the half with a bar is another monitor.

I think you'll just have to fiddle with the settings until you get what you want. I am able to position the OpenOffice window on any of my three monitors and go into fullscreen (which I don't use, as I have large monitors). Ctrl shift J will toggle in and out of fullscreen.

If you disconnect a monitor to resize/relocate the window and then plug it again, does it help?

Hi Hagar, thanks for replying. If i disconnect a monitor it will fullscreen in the monitor left connected, but it will go back to extend between both monitors as soon as i reconnect the second monitor.

I assure you I have tried this; take your OpenOffice Window out of full screen, pull it to one or other monitor, double click its title bar, then try Ctrl Shift J for full screen.

Maybe because we're on different OS your solution doesn't work for me? I don't know. But to be honest, is nothing gamebraking. It would just be a nice to have thing. But thank you again Rory.

You can also try LibreOffice (a portable version just for that if needed).

Thanks Hagar! I downloaded LibreOffice and it works wonderfully. Now my only question is, should I mark this thread as solved?

If you consider your problem is solved, then yes.
