Documents file gone haywire

All of a sudden, my document file is completely messed up. This started when a half-screen suddenly appeared on the bottom of a document that I was working on. I couldn't get rid of it, can't open other documents (which I have somehow managed to change to very large type). Now only see a grey screen with a white screen to the right, and I have to scroll left to have it cover the whole screen. Not very computer savvy. Please help.

Click on the single page icon at bottom right of OpenOffice window, and enter 100% in the % box on the bottom right corner. If these are not showin use /View /Zoom :Single Page and select 100%. You can then adjust either % to a value that you prefer.
