[Solved] why must I reregister?

I have been using Open Office for years on my Acer PC with Windows 10.
On Sunday as I opened it up as usual, instead of getting the usual front page i got a request to register. I'm worried that if I do re-register I wont have access to the vast amount of documents, many of which are vital and ongoing.
What do I do?

Just enter your name - you won't lose any documents but you will see that the list of recently used documents is empty.

As you have vital documents, I assume you have a backup strategy in place?
